APPLICATION
Once
we have received your application, a surrogate coordinator will contact
you to go over your application and answer any questions that you might
have.
We will then create a surrogate profile for you and pass it on to
couples that we think could possibly be a match. When an intended
parent reviews your profile, they will want to set up a conference
call. This is a good time to get everything out in the open. Let them
know what your hopes are for the surrogacy journey.
If the conference
call goes well and all parties decide to move forward, we will then
start all of the other necessary steps that go into a surrogacy
arrangement. These include surrogacy contracts, getting medical and
life insurance policies in place, psychological evaluations, and
medical screening.
All Gestational Carriers must go through testing for sexually transmitted diseases. It is very simple process and only requires single visit to you primary care physician and blood work. We get all results in two weeks.
The process is clear and simple, we are here to
guide you step by step through the entire surrogacy process. We want
this to be a very gratifying experience for you. We will do everything
we can to be sure that you are happy with your intended parents and our
staff here at Surrogacy International Center.
We look very forward to hearing
from you!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What is Gestational Surrogacy?
Gestational Surrogacy:
This is accomplished through In Vitro Fertilization. Eggs are retrieved
from the Recipient Mother or an Egg Donor and fertilized with the sperm
of the Recipient Father or a sperm donor. The resulting embryo is
transferred into the uterus of the Surrogate.
Will I be related to the baby (s)?
No, in case of Gestational Surrogacy you just carry a baby, but not related to him/her.
Who are the Intended Parents?
We work with married couples, single fathers, single mothers, gay couples, and foreign couples ( married or single)
How much is the compensation?
Compensation begins with $23 000 - $28 000. You will be also paid $500 IVF cycle fee for your time and efforts during preparation period, $500 maternity fee, all medical, travel, legal, expenses and babysitting expenses. There are some additional compensations that are part of your contract.
How Do I need to sign a Contract with the Intended Parents?
Yes, you will be entering into a legal agreement between you, your husband, if married, and intended parent (s).
Will I be listed as a mother of the child ( ren) on the Birth Certificate?
No, your name won't appear on the child's birth certificate. Our attorney will petition local Family Court for Pre-Birth Order and will obtain Birth Certificate into the Intended Parents' name (s) directly.
How medical procedure looks for me?
For gestational surrogacy, the surrogate will more than
likely begin taking birth control pills to align her cycle with that of
the recipient mother or the egg donor. At the appropriate time, she
will begin taking Lupron, a subcutaneous drug that suppresses
ovulation, estrogen to prepare her uterine lining for embryo
implantation and progesterone to help nourish the baby and maintain the
pregnancy during the first trimester. At this time, her hormone levels
will be monitored by blood tests. There will also be ultrasounds to be
sure that the uterine lining is developing to the optimum thickness.
Normally, somewhere between 3 and 5 days after fertilizing the egg and
sperm, the endocrinologist will transfer a pre-determined number of
embryos into the Surrogate’s uterus. This is a painless procedure
and
it only takes a matter of minutes. After the transfer, she will remain
at the clinic for an hour or two. When the surrogate returns home, she
cannot take hot baths for 2-3 days. About 2 weeks later,
a blood test will determine whether or not a pregnancy has been
achieved.
*Please note that each clinic has different
protocols regarding the types of medications that they use and how
much. There are a variety of administration methods for supplemental
estrogen and progesterone. They come in oral pills, patches,
suppositories, and intramuscular injections.
Do I need to do anything after confirmation of pregnancy?
You will need to continue taking progesterone for 3 more months. Nurse coordinator at the IVF clinic will train you how to take progesterone.
Can I use my OB GYN doctor for pregnancy?
Yes, if your OB GYN has special training in handling IVF pregnancies. We normally refer gestational carriers to be treated by specially trained obstetrycians in your area.
