QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What is a compensation rate?
ANSWER: Surrogacy International works offers compensation between $5000-8000. In some exceptional cases, compensation may be much higher. It is usually applied to the situation when the Recipient is looking for model type person or Ivy League student or graduate. We understand that it maybe unfair, but the Recipients are only wiling to pay extra in case they are looking for an exceptional egg donor candidate.
Who are the Recipients?
ANSWER: We work with married couples, single fathers, single mothers, gay couples, and foreign couples ( married or single) .
How Do I need to sign a Contract with the Recipients?
Yes, you will be entering into a legal agreement between you and the recipient (s).
Will I be listed as a mother of the child ( ren) on the Birth Certificate?
No, your name won't appear on the child's birth certificate.
Can I set up my own fees?
ANSWER: Yes, you can. We will present your fees “ as it is” to the Recipient.
When will I be paid?
ANSWER: You will be paid at the day of egg retrieval.
Do I need to have my own kidds to be qualified for being an egg donor?
ANSWER: No , you do not, however, having child is a sign of “proven fertility”
What kind of medical procedure is involved?
ANSWER: It is called “ovarian stimulation”. In a normal menstrual cycle, one egg matures and, at ovulation, is released from an egg-containing sac (called a follicle) on the ovary. In egg donation, the goal is to obtain several mature eggs. You will be prescribed medication to stimulate your ovaries to mature more eggs than normal (called "controlled hyperstimulation"). The medications are similar to the hormones that your body produces, but at much higher doses. These medications must be injected (either under your skin or into a muscle). Treatment will start on a specific day of your cycle and continue for about ten days. You will be shown how to inject the medications. If you are unable to inject yourself reliably, you will need someone else to do it for you.
Eggs will be retrieved under general anastesia.
Any complications?
ANSWER: Some women , less than 10% may develop signs of complications. Egg Donor may develop symptoms of ovarian overstimulation. This condition is treated by the reproductive endocrinologist at the IVF clinic where donation is donated. In some cases, doctor may stop process, if there are signs of overstimulation.
In general, there is no difference in treatment between IVF patient and Egg Donorю
What tests are needed prior to beginning an Egg Donation process?
ANSWER: physical examination, including a pelvic exam. Blood work, Ultrasound test, and test for sexually transmitted diseases ( blook work and cervical cultures)
You will complete a detailed medical and psychological history about yourself and close blood relatives.
Who should NOT participate in Egg Donation?
The American Society for Reproductive Medicine suggests that a woman should not donate eggs if she:
- Has a serious psychological disorder.
- Abuses drugs or alcohol or has several relatives who do.
- Currently uses psychoactive medications.
- Has significant stress in her life.
- Is in an unstable marriage or relationship.
